“I see myself in every single one of our students and every single one of those families. It makes the work meaningful for me, and I think that [the work] continues to make me a better version of myself.”  – Alexandra Zagbayou

Alexandra Zagbayou is the Chief Programs Officer for Student U, a college access and success program for Durham students who will be the first in their families to go to college. She joins us to discuss how Student U creates a culture that encourages and expects college-bound success, how they partner with the East Durham Children’s Initiative, and what needs to change in order to improve the graduation rates of low-income students in Durham and beyond.
