We are excited to announce that Lindsay Wagner will be joining our staff as Education Specialist!
With more than 10 years of experience researching and writing about education, Wagner will deepen the Fletcher Foundation’s knowledge of complex issues facing education in North Carolina, particularly as it relates to charter schools, educational equity, school choice, school funding, students with disabilities, and innovation.
In the Education Specialist role, Wagner will advise the foundation on grantmaking strategy primarily through expanding institutional knowledge on topics in education. She will directly support our grantees by providing research, analysis, and reporting on issues pertaining to education in North Carolina.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to continue working with those who are dedicated to improving the lives of our state’s children, and I look forward to contributing my knowledge and skills toward the end goal of strengthening our state’s public education system.”
Wagner most recently served as an education reporter for NC Policy Watch, reporting on key issues related to state-level education policy and legislation. Prior to this role, Wagner held positions at the American Federation of Teachers, the Institute of International Education, the National Education Association, and The Brookings Institution. She holds a masters degree in international education policy.
“We are very excited to have Lindsay Wagner join our team,” said Damon Circosta, Fletcher Foundation Executive Director. “Her strong experience and background will help our organization examine and more fully understand recent education trends and policy development as we deepen our commitment to ensuring every child in North Carolina has universal and equal access to the best public education possible.”
