This week is National Health Center Week! Celebrating the services and contributions of Community, Migrant, Homeless and Public Housing Health Centers. We applaud their successes in providing affordable access to high quality health care that to the most vulnerable communities in the United States.
At Fletcher Foundation, we are proud to partner with several health centers and community health centers across the state.
This week, the health center formerly known as Wake Health Services became Advance Community Health. They are opening a new 35,000-square-foot center on Rock Quarry Road. The new building will also house the Rex Senior Health Center, taking on an additional 1,700 patients.
In Durham, Lincoln Community Health Center will be hosting several events throughout the week including:
Wed., August 12 – Affordable Care Act and Voter Outreach, from 1 pm – 5 pm
Thurs., August 13 – Red Cross Blood Drive, from 10 am – 2:30 pm’
In the western part of the state, we partner with Appalachian Regional Healthcare Foundation, which supports two hospitals in Boone and Linville, North Carolina, a physician practice management group, and a rehabilitation and extended care center in Blowing Rock. The Appalachian Regional Healthcare System is a gem, committed to promoting health in the High Country, enhancing quality of life and “making life better”, in the mountain region of northwest North Carolina and northeast Tennessee.
