Fletcher Fellow

MaDeja is a native of Ninety Six, South Carolina and a recent graduate of North Carolina Central University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. She is most interested in enhancing the lived experiences of underrepresented groups.  

During her undergraduate studies, she actively engaged in the department of Political Science and served as President of the Political Science Club. As president, she helped lead events and panel discussions centered on voter education and the empowerment of disadvantaged people.  She also interned with the Budget & Tax Center of the NC Justice Center.  

As a fellow for the Foundation, MaDeja will be working closely with the Southeast Raleigh Promise. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, reading, baking, cooking, and listening to music.
