“What we really need in Southeast Raleigh is the opportunity to come together and get creative and work towards solving the problems ourselves. And I think that’s really possible. I think that the residents of this community, given time, space, opportunity, can do some really exciting things to shift the dynamics of housing, education, economic development and entrepreneurship, that with the right kind of support and the right kind of policies, that we can really make a difference.”

This week we hear from Kia Baker, an inspiring woman who was raised in Southeast Raleigh and is now serving her community as Director of the Southeast Raleigh Promise Project. Tune in to hear Kia’s story and vision for the future of Southeast Raleigh, and learn about how community members and SER Promise are working to make it a reality.
