We’re excited to switch it up this week by inviting our Director of Digital + Innovation, Shannon Ritchie, on to the show to tell us a bit about her work here at Fletcher Foundation. Shannon joins us to chat about what has led her to AJF, how she hopes to make a difference, and what is next for herself and for our nonprofit partners.
“Education is one of the most important parts of our society… People get where they are because of the education they receive… You have this intersection of a lot of different issues in education; you can talk about issues around poverty, race, mental health, funding, politics… there’s so much fodder to dig into.”
A graduate of the Journalism School at UNC, Reema Khrais has spent the past year exclusively reporting on education in the state. In this episode we discuss Reema’s experiences reporting on the Arab Spring in Egypt, and on education in New York and North Carolina.
